Console

Everything PulseSave adds to the Unreal console: console variables, commands, cheats, stats and log categories.

Console variables

PulseSave has no console variables; reports and slots are set in its project settings (see Model factories and settings).

Commands

Command Where What it does
PulseSave.OpenReports editor Opens the Reports page of the Pulse Debugger, where the save and load reports show (see Reports).

Cheats

Cheat Where What it does
PulseSaveSlots the machine that runs it Prints the save slots of the default slot directory with their last change, metadata and staged changes.
PulseSaveDeleteSlot <Slot> the machine that runs it Deletes a save slot of the default slot directory.
PulseSaveMenu [Save\|Load] the player that runs it Opens the save or the load menu (see Save and load menus).

State in the console

The snapshot providers of PulseSave (category Save) also print to the console, through the cheats of PulseFoundation: PulseDebugDump Save writes their state to the log, PulseDebugProviders lists all providers of the world. The same state is on the Live page of the Pulse Debugger (Pulse.Debugger Live).

Log categories

Category What it logs
LogPulseSave Save manager, models, collectors, migrations, reports.
LogPulseSaveSlot Slot files: writing, reading, backups of missing or corrupt files.
LogPulseSaveUI Save and load menus: menus that cannot open, saves whose meta could not be written.

Change the verbosity at runtime with Log <Category> <Verbosity>, e.g. Log LogPulseSave Verbose (Log LogPulseSave Log goes back to the default). For a whole run: -LogCmds="LogPulseSave Verbose" on the command line, or LogPulseSave=Verbose in the section [Core.Log] of DefaultEngine.ini.
